Job Description

  • Collaborate with technical and news teams to meet production needs for live, taped, and automated programming under the supervision of the Director and Operations management.
  • Proficiently operate Cammate Jib, ensuring smooth and creative camera movements.
  • Utilize hand-held camera skills as needed by productions demands.
  • Assist in the maintenance of studio cameras and manage the movement of all set pieces and props.
  • Partner with the Director to create visually compelling and varied shots.
  • Train others for backup purposes as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in live, multi-camera studio production, with a focus on camera operation.
  • Proficiency in operating Cammate, Jib and Ikegami HD cameras.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues with Jib equipment and setup.
  • Must be able to lift 25+ lbs. depending on set / strike studio gear

Desired Characteristics:

  • Familiarity with NY sports is a plus.
  • Proficiency in iNEWS or similar newsroom software system a plus.
  • With proper training, serve as fill-in for all other Tech 1 positions as needed (i.e. Robotic Camera, Playback, Video Shading).
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
  • A collaborative team player who excels in a fast paced, dynamic studio environment.
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays​​​​​
