The Six-Month Part-Time Acting for Film is a practical and intensive course for students who are looking to build skills to produce powerful on-screen performances.
While this course is suitable for beginners, we do require a CV and a showreel where possible to demonstrate your acting. If you are unable to provide this, we ask that you provide a monologue or ‘piece to camera’ as part of your application.
WHY TAKE THE COURSE?
The Six-Month Part-Time Acting for Film gives students the opportunity to take part in several exercises filmed by a professional crew and edited by a professional editor. Students will examine how to get the most out of rehearsals, explore the casting process and become familiar with the filmmaking process.
Part-Time Six-Month Acting for Film is designed to improve the understanding, knowledge, and practice in the following core areas:
- The broad areas of work available for an actor
- The core techniques in demand within the fast-evolving media industry
- Industry practice through hands-on exercises
- How to analyse a script to enrich and deepen your performance
- Develop your understanding of the technical skills relevant to screen acting
- How to improve your confidence performing in front of the camera
- On set practices and the relationship with the crew
- How physicality and voice inform screen acting
