Contract Summary

IMG Productions and the Euroleague Basketball department has a great opportunity for a creative, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individual with experience and an interest in live Sports Production. Working exclusively on Europe’s premier basketball leagues, the successful candidate will help oversee all live EuroCup basketball games. This role will involve shaping the broadcasts and liaising with the Federation, EuroCup clubs, broadcasters, and talent. There will be the chance to imprint your own creative vision through game running orders, VT packages, and graphics.

Furthermore, there will be the opportunity to produce live outside broadcasts both in the UK and in Europe and to contribute to our EuroLeague coverage and productions – including the season ending EuroCup Final and EuroLeague Final 4 showpiece event.

Are you the ideal candidate?

Our ideal team member would be someone with prior experience working as an Assistant Producer and of the live sport TV environment. Hands-on experience in a variety of roles on outside broadcasts and studio-based productions would be advantageous but this is an outstanding opportunity for the right candidate to learn on-the-job and progress their career.

PLEASE NOTE: Typically working Monday-Friday (40 hours per week). You will be required to work flexible hours and possible weekends and bank holidays. You may also be required to travel abroad. This role is based at IMG Studios, Stockley Park, Uxbridge, UB11 1FE.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Responsibility (in conjunction with the Senior and Executive Producer) for delivery of the EuroCup (EC) World Feeds on time and on budget to agreed specification.
  • To assist the Senior Producer in defining the editorial content and direction of EC World Feed.
  • To liaise with all broadcast partners regarding the production of EC games and providing feedback as appropriate.
  • Produce live outside broadcasts in London and elsewhere around Europe.
  • Producing the quality control room on game nights; primarily for EC but also for the EuroLeague.
  • To work with the Senior Producer in managing the Joint-Venture relationship between IMG and Euroleague.
  • Responsible for material produced for game running orders, including graphics, VT, and sound.
  • Self-edit features, promos, openers, and short form content for broadcast using Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Avid.
  • Involvement in Production of showpiece EuroLeague Final 4 live event and EC Final.
  • Helping to produce media days.
  • Responsible for adhering to compliance guidelines for broadcaster/client as appropriate.
  • To implement improvements and enhance coverage within budgetary constraints.
  • Responsible for matters of Health & Safety for the production.
  • Co-ordination of Talent (commentators) hired to work on show.
  • You may also be required to carry out any other duties which are within the scope and purpose of the job.

Unusual Challenges or Circumstances   e.g. shift(s)/ unsocial hours/ travel etc

  • You will be required to travel internationally.
  • You will be required to work late nights on game days and may need to work over weekends, the festive period, Easter, and bank holidays.

Person Specification

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience as a Live Sports Assistant Producer
  • Experience of edit producing programmes or VT inserts for live.
  • Experience of writing scripts and creating running orders for live sport programmes.
  • Experience of defining the editorial content and direction of a programme.
  • Experience of dealing with international broadcasters, independent production companies, key stakeholders, external third parties and talent.
  • Experience of dealing with Talent (eg commentators, sports stars).
  • Experience of self-editing on Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Avid.
  • Experience of self-shooting with a variety of cameras (e.g. Sony FS7, Sony A7s, Canon 5D)

  • Demonstrates strong editorial judgment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Understanding of production workflows.
  • Ability to create original ideas and produce compelling content.

Working Conditions

  • This is a fixed term position until June 2nd 2023 based at Stockley Park
  • Working hours are an average of 40 hours per week
  • Occasional unsocial hours, weekend and evening working, and some regional travel is required
  • Free onsite parking (for roles based at Stockley Park)
