Job Description

This role will facilitate the execution of content across SNY, working closely with the Content Team across all of SNY’s distribution platforms. The Freelance Content Supervisor oversees edit traffic and prioritization. This person will be an effective communicator and possess the ability to handle multiple projects at one time under tight deadlines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitates execution of video content across SNY’s platforms
  • Communicate with senior content staff and Content Producers for studio and digital shows
  • Assign edit responsibilities across production
  • Set and manage records for daily content
  • Edit independently to assist Content Team when demand is high
  • Transfer incoming content for internal production and outgoing content to external media outlets

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in live video production
  • Must have thorough knowledge of the New York sports market and exhibit editorial judgment and knowledge of industry style standards
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude and leadership qualities
  • Highlight Supervisor experience a plus
  • Demonstrate the tact, diplomacy, decisiveness, and superior people skills required in a pressurized live production environment
  • Very strong computer skills: Experience with any of the following software is highly preferred –AVID Media Composer, Media Central and Capture Manager, and iNEWS
    Experience with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Cisco WebEx, Filezilla and Dropbox
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are highly desired
  • Individual must interface in a collaborative manner with various internal departments
  • Ability to work well and multitask in a fluid, live broadcast 24/7 environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be detail oriented, meticulous and able to maintain confidentiality

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Willing to be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be willing to work in New York, NY
