Job Description

Job Duties:

  • Produce original videos for the News Digital team.
  • Responsible for the development, production and editing of audio visual content in a timely manner.
  • Write scripts and edit videos under tight deadlines.
  • Produce, shoot, and edit original stories of high quality in video format.
  • Innovate with new edit techniques and approaches to stay ahead of the ever-changing digital media landscape.
  • Track scripts, pull supporting b-roll, SOTs, and photos.
  • Produce and execute livestream coverages in all platforms, when needed.
  • Create compelling news video content conceived for web and social media platforms.
  • Publish videos using both Telemundo’s CMS and third party video distribution platforms (ie: YouTube).
  • Work closely with other members from the news team, supporting them with stories in video format.
  • Brainstorm video ideas and curate material, when needed.
  • Work with the linear team to maximize news coverage on all platforms.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher / in Journalism, Communications, Film preferred or equivalent.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a newsroom.
  • Essential training, knowledge of licenses and/or certification: video news wires, audio recording, and video editing.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • Flawless verbal and written skills in Spanish.
  • Strong experience with digital narrative.
  • Knowledge of Latinx and Latin American culture.
  • Understanding of online communities and the impact of social media.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Flexible with schedules and able to work under strict deadlines.
  • Ability to travel, occasionally with short notice.
  • Able to work flexible hours and change shifts, as needed.

  • Exhibits knowledge of current entertainment industry trends for the Latin Market in the US.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, dead-line driven environment.
  • Accustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organization.
  • Effective self-starter with the proven ability to generate and produce news stories and enterprise stories.
  • Proven excellent interpersonal skills combined with a strong sense of how to visually tell a compelling story desired.
  • Exhibits news judgment with solid ethical decision process.

Additional Requirements:

  • This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must be able to provide references from previous employers if requested.
  • Must be willing to facilitate personnel requirements including late and/or last minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment.
  • Must be available to work (whenever necessary) early mornings, evenings, holidays, weekends, and natural disaster emergencies.
  • Must be willing to travel as needed, sometimes on short notice.
