Job Summary:

FX is seeking a Director of Production & Special Projects to oversee marketing production, collaborating with in-house producers, outside agencies and production companies, producers, show talent and management, directors, photographers, artists, industry crew and professionals, as well as sales clients.


  • Produce concept shoots for Production and Special Projects, including all original shoots for broadcast teasers, launch campaigns, print and key art photography and digital media, as well as D&I initiatives.
  • Oversee all production budgets.
  • Manage all BTS and EPK shoots from inception through shoot and post.
  • Develop on-going relationships with show talent, producers, and crews.
  • Research, hire and supervise production companies and production facilities and various vendors.
  • Oversee asset tracking system and manage off-site asset warehouse.


  • 4-year degree required or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of production experience at a broadcast entertainment or production company.
  • Must have experience with all aspects of television and commercial production from concept to completion.
  • Must have knowledge of production budgeting process and managing.
  • Must have an understanding of television, film, performance guilds, casting process, still photographic production, art direction, art history, special and visual effects, and post-production terminology.
  • Frequent travel required.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and verbal skills.
  • Must be organized, autonomous, decisive and able to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Must be proactive and able to communicate effectively to team members, vendors and executives.
  • Must be well-informed on current trends in competitive advertising, design and the marketplace.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe, Photoshop, Illustrator, QuickTime, iTunes, Acrobat, and budgeting software.
  • Working understanding of edit and design systems.
