JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX Sports is looking for an Executive Director of Production to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. As the Executive Director you will oversee the operational and support requirements for FOX Deportes broadcast operations including on-air, operational, financial, technical, and logistical requirements.

You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day workload of the Production department and all Production Producers specifically. Duties include assigning work; acting as a liaison with other production arms of FOX Deportes; ensuring that all products meet network standards; working closely with GM in negotiating rates with third party production vendors and freelancers; and creating effective systems of communication within the department, as well as with other FOX Deportes departments and FOX Sports to improve the flow of information, establish synergy and minimize errors. Additionally, you will create, develop, and supervise new programming products, help improve the level and quality of content and league relationships for every product including but not limited to Liga MX, NFL, MLB, MLS, NASCAR, Boxing, and all locally produced shows including El Entretiempo, NFLeros, Fox Gamers Elite, etc, maintain strong relationship with our Mexico operation partners and oversee content for U.S. versions coming from Mexico including Punto Final and Total Sports 360. The position will work closely with our Liga MX production partners in Mexico to assure a quality product.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review department workload, workflow, and work quality by conducting weekly production meetings and supervising productions
  • Assess, utilize, and potentially recommend production technology utilizing the latest production equipment in capture, edit, and transmission
  • Communicate with the other production arms of FOX Deportes, including FOX Sports U.S. and production partners in Mexico
  • Assess the programming needs of the networks and any special projects required by the SVP & GM or other departments
  • Assign work to the Production department and systemize the workflow
  • Work to integrate FOX Deportes productions into and around television remotes being hosted by FOX Sports and other networks
  • Liaise between these entities to ensure a smooth integration on both sides
  • Maintain workload balance and ensure efficient and effective processes and procedures
  • Negotiate rates and works closely with out-of-house production companies that produce content for the FSI networks
  • Ensure that outside vendors meet all established production standards
  • Supervise the scheduling department and freelance production and talent personnel
  • Negotiate freelance rates and maintain, improve, or correct performance
  • Create effective systems of communication within the department, as well as with other departments
  • Improve the flow of information, establish synergy, and minimize error
  • Assist the GM with various projects
  • Maintain vertical and horizontal communication flow
  • Partner GM in the budgeting process, talent search, show development, etc.
  • Collaborate with FOX Sports in the build out of the facility and coordinate remote live events

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 10+ years of experience in TV production
  • Fluent Spanish – written and verbal
  • Basic math, critical thinking
  • Microsoft Office, Web Applications
  • In-depth knowledge of European, international, and domestic soccer and news
  • Live sports and live studio show production experience
  • Experience with managing a large group of people and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to interact on an executive level with production, engineering, and senior management
  • Logical thinker, detail orientated, able to respond under stress and tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of television production tools i.e. cameras, NLEs, graphics, transmission systems, etc.
  • Willing to work weekends and holidays
  • Available to travel
