The Executive Director Physical Production, Series partners closely with the filmmaker and Creative Group, and reports to the Physical Production Executives. This role serves as a key production management liaison between series in production and SPA Physical Production executives.

Sony Pictures Animation is a pre-production animation studio based in Culver City, California, creating both feature animation and animated series with artists from around the world. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises all aspects of physical production on assigned projects in pre-production and production stages.
  • Establishes a good working relationship with the SPA creative team, Show Directors, Line Producer, Key Leads and including but not limited to BA, Legal, Finance, Recruiting, Facilities, P&O, Technology, Operations and Post
  • Aligns Production Teams in key physical production standard practices and paperwork, including but not limited to; all production paperwork, crew start work, DGA contracts, Exhibit G forms, Call Sheets, and Production Reports.
  • Assists in the hiring and deal making of key below the line personnel and crew.
  • Develops relationships with key vendors and partners with SVP Physical Production on overall vendor deals.
  • Tracks productions through phases of production and budgets, forecasting, supervising and advising shows to meet creative and business expectations
  • Partners with Line Producer to train crews in managing assumptions and complexity throughout all phases of production
  • Partners with Line Producer to insure quality shipping pre-production materials to production studios.
  • Identifies and addresses gaps in the pipeline, technical support, and production tracking and communicates flags to appropriate partners.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years experience budgeting, scheduling and maintaining visual effects/animated projects.
  • Previous Line Producer experience across CG Series.
  • Experience with outsourcing, including identifying vendor studios.
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Docs and production software.
  • Able to multitask and work effectively under changing priorities and daily time constraints
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Take direction when needed and also take the initiative where applicable.
  • Trustworthy with the ability to maintain a high level of discretion.
  • Driven, innovative, strategic and solution focused.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with creative individuals.
  • Able to communicate in a constructive, proactive manner.

This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
