This role entails…
ITV Cymru Wales has a rare opportunity for an exceptional journalist to join the team, covering the west Wales patch.
Based from home in either Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire or Ceredigion, this is a high profile, on-screen role for someone with a proven track record for delivering impactful, high-quality, distinctive journalism.
Your passion for the patch will see you immerse yourself in the community and develop great contacts, to ensure our newsgathering reflects the different communities that make up our audience to deliver agenda-setting coverage from west Wales.
This is a busy news patch and you will need self discipline and an excellent work ethic to successfully work remotely. You must be a self-starter who regularly contributes original ideas. Whilst you will work with craft camera colleagues, we expect you to be willing and enthusiastic to use – or develop – your camera and editing skills to complement your newsgathering and story-telling.
Alongside your first-class communication and team working skills, experience of self-shooting, laptop editing and live reporting is desirable, however, training and support will be offered for experienced journalists who are new to an on screen role.
