Your New Role…

A Special Projects Producer generates TV and digital story ideas and takes them from pitch to finished production. Ability to shoot and edit a plus.

Your Role Accountabilities…

  • Write factually correct, well-organized stories (topics include but are not limited to: human interest, technology, business, wellness and obituaries) and demonstrate creativity when structuring video packages for TV and digital
  • Research, book interviews, submit budget, coordinate and field produce shoots
  • Collaborate with and direct photographers and video editors to create compelling pieces
  • Coordinate all elements gathered for packages into coherent, crafted pieces that integrate the best video and compelling writing
  • Select music and graphics for video pieces
  • Vet charities for CNN Impact Your World
  • Manage multiple projects at the same time, while upholding CNN standards and practices

Qualifications & Experience…

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent years of experience
  • 5 years television production experience
  • This position requires a creative thinker with the ability to find innovative and entertaining ways to present information, new angles to approach stories, and utilize organizational skills to bring it all together
  • Must be a strong writer
  • News awareness and judgment
  • Ability to pick up new technology quickly and be savvy with social media
  • Good time management, creative problem solving, team player, good attitude
  • Flexible and able to manage projects and people
