Sony Pictures Animation is searching for a Production Manager to lead the day-to-day production schedule and crew under the guidance of the Line Producer.

Sony Pictures Animation is a pre-production animation studio based in Culver City, California, creating both feature animation and animated series with artists from around the world. Responsibilities

  • Establish processes to ensure the crew is fully supported
  • Ensure that the production runs smoothly and efficiently
  • Understand detailed status of each episode within the production
  • Communicate challenges to the Line Producer and other Studio Management when appropriate
  • Maintain schedules with the Partner Studio and each individual department to ensure that they meet the master schedule’s target dates
  • Mentor and build the production staff, delegating and empowering regularly
  • Aid in establishing an organizational chart of approvals and duties that meet the master schedule’s target dates
  • Work with the Line Producer and Production Accountant as needed to maintain the production’s staffing profile
  • Under the mentorship of project leadership, develop an respectful relationship with the Partner Studio to troubleshoot potential delays and issues as they arise
  • Provide weekly production reports to the studio management and project management
  • Attend review meetings as needed to ensure that schedule is moving milestones are met and issues addressed
  • Under guidance of the Line Producer, manage crew time cards weekly
  • Ensure clear dissemination of information to the show leadership and production staff
  • Work with Post Production Supervisor in monitoring the retake process within budget and schedule
  • Troubleshoot and find solutions to issues that may impact the team or schedule
  • Create an environment of respect and collaboration
  • Orchestrate significant events to elevate crew moral and working dynamic
  • Under the supervision of the Line Producer, discuss performance and crew feedback, working to create plans to resolve issues that may arise

Requirements

  • 3+ years as Production Manager or Production Coordinator for CG animation
  • Previous progressive experience in a production role in animation or VFX
  • Understanding of Gmail suite, Excel, and Shotgrid
  • Highly organized, resourceful, and dependable with excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly to both internal and external groups in a timely manner
  • Must be willing to take direction and also take the initiative where applicable
  • Ability to work independently and set appropriate priorities
  • Trustworthy with the ability to maintain a high level of discretion
  • Driven, innovative, strategic and solution focused
  • Demonstrated ability to work with creative individuals
  • Ability to communicate in a constructive, proactive manner
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to juggle various priorities and deadlines in a fast paced environment
