We are recruiting a Senior Edit Assistant.

Are you confident dealing with high-profile, demanding clients? Unflappable when fixing technical failures during busy times? A master with mixed frame rates and formats? Capable of fixing a multitude of video defects? A natural at mentoring and leading a team who are hungry to learn?

We are Brighton’s longest established full post production facility. In our new purpose-built Brighton facility, we deliver prime-time documentaries and series to the major broadcasters. We work to exceptionally high standards and attention to detail is paramount to us.

We seek a Senior Technical Operator / Tech Leader.

Reporting to our Head of Operations, the successful candidate will already be working hands-on, at a high technical level, in an Avid environment and will be able to assist the entire post production chain. They will be experienced at conforming, QCing and delivering broadcast masters. They will oversee, mentor and train edit assistants and ensure operational workflows are followed. They will be able to trouble-shoot the usual technical problems that arise in a busy facility.


  • Ensuring safe transit, backup and storage of clients’ and our own data
  • Conforming picture-locked sequences and creating assets for final post
  • Creation, quality control, reporting and delivery of AS11 masters to strict deadlines
  • Trouble shooting systems, logging and resolving faults quickly
  • Keeping abreast of industry technical developments and assisting with technical planning
  • Overseeing archive and backup of data
  • Liaising with bookings staff up to date with our schedule and pre-empting works that needs to be done
  • Communicating clearly and professionally with our clients and staff.

Person Profile

  • Extremely technically minded, able to solve complex problems
  • Excellent working knowledge of conform, QC and delivery
  • Excellent knowledge of entire post production workflow
  • Good working knowledge of Avid Nexis shared storage
  • Able to communicate with clients in a friendly, professional manner at all times
  • Can handle the pressure of deadlines and prioritise work as clients’ needs change
  • Ability to mentor and share technical knowledge with the rest of the technical team.
