GMA has an opening for senior producer at the nation’s #1 morning show! This senior will be tasked with programming and running Good Morning America on Saturday and Sunday and heading up a team of producers, writers and more. This individual will also work closely with the show’s Executive Producer on content decisions as well as news operations to build systems that ensure the effective use of show resources. The senior producer must have excellent news judgment, live control room experience and be proficient in graphics workflow, line producing, segment timing, and studio operations. This position will bridge both weekday and weekend segments of the show, senioring on the first hour of the broadcast Wednesdays and Thursdays. What You Will Do:

We are looking for the candidate to excel at all aspects of producing and running a broadcast: coordinating daily pitch meetings, crafting and pitching ideas, talent and staff management, live studio producing in high-pressure environment and scripting. Needs to have strong experience in conceiving, setting up and implementing both newsy and creative lifestyle segments.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a control room producing for a live show at the large market, cable or network level.
  • Shown experience building a rundown.
  • Consistent record to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • The ability to independently lead and empower a team
  • Experience in making editorial judgements as well as an overall understanding of lifestyle programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous management of large teams is desirable

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
