The role of Video Editor & Motion Graphics Artist – YouTube is an exciting position. It is a hands-on role working across Alphablocks, Numberblocks, Colourblocks and new Blue Zoo shows, requiring an individual with an understanding of how to edit and create content in an engaging way for children, while maintaining the shows’ brand integrity. This role will also have an understanding of how to optimise their edits for YouTube and the ability to interpret a brief to create and publish content which will gain the most views and engagement. This role will be required to edit video content, create, test and optimise images and text and publish content in accordance with a YouTube schedule.

As part of a growing team, you will also have some additional responsibilities including editing audio, video and image assets for the Apps team and creating assets for our digital music streaming platforms.

The role will report to the Lead Content Producer and be part of a highly motivated, collaborative and creative growing team.

Day to Day:

  • Editing, optimising and uploading fully optimised content to the YouTube channels, including testing to improve.
  • Design and produce typographic video content for our YouTube channels, including karaoke singalong videos and titles intro sequences
  • Collaborate with our in-house 3D animator to create new and exciting best-in-class video content
  • Working with translated content in a variety of languages
  • Support set up of language channels and carry out edits and uploads for the language translation pipeline.
  • Edit videos in order to publish the best content for the audience to support their learning and increase engagement. Ensure that content is of the highest quality and adheres to YouTube
  • Kids’ guidelines.
  • Editing audio, video and image assets for Apps projects and eye-catching thumbnails for YouTube.
  • Editing audio and image assets for our VOD platforms.
  • Use our extensive video toolkit of 3D animation assets to produce new videos that will entertain and engage our viewers.
  • Bring fresh, innovative ideas to the table to help us continue to produce high-quality content that resonates with our audience.

About You

Must Have:

  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Good attention to detail and appreciation of the importance of brand integrity.
  • Good experience of Adobe Premiere, After Effects & Photoshop.
  • Have a creative mindset and the ability to think outside the box to come up with new, exciting ideas that will resonate with our audience.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience working in children’s media.
  • Experience in Illustrator and InDesign.
  • An understanding of creating content for children, including an awareness of the implications of COPPA and GDPR laws.
  • A solid understanding of what makes content fun for children!
