Camera Operator / Assistant at Freelance

Having worked in camera rental for three years, I have recently found myself in a position to freelance as a camera assistant or camera operator depending on the nature of the shoot. I have gained some respectable credits over recent years and have worked on some of the biggest shows on television such as The Voice and Gogglebox.

My strong working knowledge of current camcorders makes me the number one choice for DOP’s in need of a camera assistant. Working along side such highly skilled and experienced creatives has allowed me to perfect the art of camera assisting, focus pulling and DIT. My operating experience lies mainly in live events however I can also confidently and competently operate on television jobs. In recent weeks I have shot at The Princes Trust Celebrate Success Awards and the Game of Thrones series 5 premiere.

Recent work for IBC TV News required me to adopt an ENG style of shooting when creating show highlights packages containing interviews and creative pieces to camera. Due to the exceptionally quick turnaround required for news broadcasting, a fast yet well thought out approach was necessary if edits were to be completed on schedule.

I have always enjoyed good working relationships with other crew members and am confident that this would continue should I be booked through Video Collective.

Camera Technician at Shooting Partners Facilities Ltd

Shooting Partners are a leading supplier of high definition broadcast equipment. As Camera Techncian, I would test and maintain professional broadcast hardware and build camera packages to serve a range of clients. The company provide both wet and dry hire packages meaning that I would often work on location as a Camera Operator or Assistant when required.
