What is Teamwork?
Teamwork is a project management website, founded in 2007 by Peter Coppinger and Dan Mackey. The product was part of Coppinger and Mackey’s Digital Crew – a company that built apps for clients in Cork, Ireland.
Before being known as Teamwork it was called Teamwork Project Manager (TeamworkPM) and Teamwork Projects. Today, Teamwork combines tools for collaboration, project management, and CRM all under one roof.
Who Can Use Teamwork?
Hundreds of thousands of businesses and freelancers around the world use Teamwork. These include a range of companies from small startups to larger global brands. Among the most popular users of Teamwork are Disney, HP, and Spotify.
How It Works
As soon as you land on the main page, you will realize just how simple and pleasant Teamwork’s website is. Setting up your account is super easy and only requires a few steps.
- Click on the button at the top of this page and visit the Teamwork website.
- Click on the “Try it for free” button, in the top-right corner of the page.
- Here, you will be able to either sign up with Google or use your work email to create your new account.
- Click “Get started for free”, and you will instantly have access to your very own dashboard.
From here, you can start right away with creating your first project. After a few minutes of logging into Teamwork, you will have already been able to start a new project, invite collaborators, add tasks, and upload files.
Yes, that’s how easy it is!
And what’s even better, Teamwork has some pretty great customization tools, too. These allow you to personalize your account to match your brand. Your account will be linked with a unique URL, and you can even add a logo to it.
You can add logos to all your projects, too, as well as choose the specific features that you need for each project. Don’t need time tracking, for example? Just disable that feature, and you won’t see it on your dashboard anymore.
Features
Teamwork has a great range of features that make it one of the top project and collaboration management websites. Let’s take a look at some of them in more detail.
1. Resource Management
This feature helps you manage your team’s resources quickly and effectively. Plan everything, from daily tasks to long-term milestones, and keep a close eye on time and budget. Take advantage of tools such as Workload Planner and Resource Scheduler, with in-built tools that boost your team’s efficiency and help you make better use of your resources.
2. Templates
Are you using Teamwork to save time and get more done? Then, Templates is a feature that you must check out. With Templates, you can browse through a long list of ready-made templates for a range of departments, including:
- Marketing
- IT
- Cross-functional
- Engineering
- Creative
- Project Management
- Operations
The Templates function takes the guesswork out of creating reports and lets you save time, money, and effort.
3. Kanban Boards
With Kanban Boards, you can map out your workflow, check out the status of your tasks, and automate your processes at the touch of a button. This is how Teamwork truly takes project management and optimization up a notch, giving you more customization and control over your own projects.
4. Time Tracking
Making sure that you deliver all your projects within the deadline is important. The good news is that Teamwork can help you with that. With the Time Tracking feature, you can take a closer look at how you are spending your time across all your projects.
This, in turn, allows you to manage your work more efficiently, pinpoint and remove bottlenecks, and fast-track project completion. An extra bonus? This feature easily merges with a huge range of popular software tools, including:
- Slack
- Xero
- Hubspot
- Google Drive
- Dropbox
- Zapier
- QuickBooks
5. Unlimited Client Users
Something we really dig about Teamwork is the fact that your clients can use the product, too. Teamwork lets them unlock its full power to enable better collaboration and transparency. The bottom line?
Happier clients and a more productive business – and all of that, at no extra cost to you or them. Again, this feature is fully integrated with some of the most popular tools on the market, including:
- Slack
- Xero
- Hubspot
- Google Drive
- Dropbox
- Zapier
- QuickBooks
6. Profitability
While Teamwork might not make you richer, it can definitely help you boost your productivity. In turn, your profits might go up. How?
It’s simple: just use the Profitability section. This gives you a complete, real-time view of your budget and finances, which in turn reveals the profitability of each project. And once you get the Profitability Report, you will be able to make better, more efficient business decisions that protect your margins and help you earn more.
7. The Teamwork Resource Center
Teamwork also has a very handy resource center, packed with great learning tips, wisdom, and features to help users make the most of the platform. In this section, you will find blog posts, videos, webinars, books, guides, and much more.
How Much Does Teamwork Cost?
Luckily, to keep things simple, Teamwork only has four different types of subscriptions – let’s look at them in detail below.
Free Forever
Fancy using Teamwork for free… forever? The Free Forever subscription does just what it says on the tin. Similar to other project management platforms like ClickUp and monday.com this allows you to test it out to see if it’s right for you.
The Free Forever account lets you manage up to five people and two projects at a time and gives you 100MB of free storage space. Most of Teamwork’s main features are included in this plan, except for billing and invoicing, templates, client users, and other advanced features.
Deliver
The next one up from the Free Forever account is the Deliver account. The plan includes everything that is included in the Free Forever account, plus unlimited clients and collaborators and the possibility to manage project-level teams.
With this plan, you get 100GB of storage space and can manage up to 300 projects at once. Many integrations are also included in this subscription, except HubSpot, Microsoft Project, OneDrive Business, and SharePoint.
Grow
Larger teams, or teams looking for even more features, might want to go for the Grow plan.
With the Grow plan, you get everything that is included in the Deliver plan, as well as 250GB of storage space and up to 600 projects. Also included are 50 project templates, custom fields, project time budgets, change history and burndown reports. All the integrations supported by Teamwork are also available if you choose this plan.
Scale
As we mentioned in the introduction, companies like Disney and Spotify use Teamwork regularly. For very large businesses like those, Teamwork has created a fourth plan, named Scale.
This plan is ideal for teams of 100 people (or more) and has no set price. If you would like to know, exactly, how much Teamwork will charge you for an Enterprise account you need to get in touch with them directly.
The Enterprise account has it all: almost unlimited storage space, unlimited projects and team members, a dedicated account manager, and premium support.

Teamwork Review: Worth it or Not?
In short, Yes! Teamwork is definitely one of the easiest and simple to use project management platforms around. But there’s actually much more to Teamwork than just project management.
The website also allows you to manage aspects such as billing and invoicing, customer relationships, and project templates. It might be one of the more costly management tools out there, but it’s also one of the most straightforward and has multiple features.
