What is VEED?
VEED is a fast and easy way to edit your video content online. It was created by a London-based start-up with a mission to provide creators with a simple yet powerful editing platform with one-click features.
Who is VEED for?
Overall, anyone who wants to develop video editing skills, create content, build an audience, and increase engagement. For example:
- Video editors
- Content creators
- Marketers
- Podcasters
- Musicians
But before we get into features, let’s quickly discuss how to sign up and get started.
How Does It Work?
First of all, signing up is super quick and easy. Follow the 7 steps below to get started.
- Click on the link above and visit the VEED homepage
- In the top right corner, click Sign Up
- Enter your Email Address to ‘Get Magic Link’
- Check your Email. Select the message from VEED, click Login
- From there, you’ll get access to a Free Plan account by default.
- Enter your Name, Workspace, Basic Details, and Account Plan to start your project.
- That’s it!
Now that you have that figured out let’s look at the most popular features.
Features
VEED comes jam-packed with different tools and features. Honestly, it can be a lot at first, so we’ve decided to highlight the most popular ones.
Progress Bar Maker
On top of the list is the progress bar. Creating this motion graphic on your own requires two things: patience and keyframes. Now, you can create all shapes, sizes, and colors easily.
This way, you can keep viewers engaged with a progress bar that shows the exact length of your videos. Plus, you can do it with only a few clicks.
Waveform Creator
Next, I’m sure you’ve seen popular audio-only clips with a waveform visual. They’ve become very popular over the past few years. This technique creates engagement with an otherwise static image.
You probably haven’t tried this because it was too difficult; however, with VEED, you can automatically sync an audio visualizer from music or voiceover. Plus, there are many styles available.
Resizing Content
As a video editor, I find it difficult to keep track of all the formats and aspect ratios for social media. However, with VEED’s reformatting tool, converting to landscape, square, or vertical is super easy.
Subtitles
These days, titles on screen serve many purposes, one of which is increasing SEO. However, subtitles aren’t a fast and easy thing to do. Typing out a script, choosing a font, and timing the placement can be a pain.
However, with VEED (depending on your subscription), you can easily auto-translate and choose from many pre-made styles. If needed, you can also edit the script. As a result, you can reach a larger audience.
Templates
Starting from scratch can be hard, so VEED provides a variety of different templates to choose from. Just take your video clips and drag-and-drop them into preset areas.
In addition, you can add other elements such as emojis, stickers, shapes, and filters, and even change the speed of your video. Check out the rest of the tools here.
Team Sharing
When working with a team on video projects, it can be difficult to share all the assets with others. With VEED, all your data and tools are available in one place.
For instance, you don’t have to worry about losing another file or sending it via WeTransfer or Google Drive. Not to mention multiple versions of each file.
Lastly, your team will be able to make comments directly on the video. This is a big plus for when you want to keep feedback concise and in one place.
Tutorials and Support
Lastly, if you feel like you need a little guidance to get started, VEED has you covered.
They’ve dedicated a whole YouTube channel called VEED STUDIO to give you tips and tricks and best-in-class practices for creating polished videos that generate greater engagement.
Remember, if you need assistance or have questions, they have 24-hour support available to answer you at any time about any topic. You can also find step-by-step guides on VEED’s blog.
Workflow
If you want to get started, then here is my quick tutorial on how to import, edit, add text, and export a clip. Once you’ve signed up, you will be taken to the dashboard.
To get started, click Create Project on the top left corner of your dashboard.
From there, you will have a few options for uploading content for your project.
You can upload using a clip from your device, record video or audio, or choose a file from DropBox.
In this example, we’ll be uploading directly from the computer.
Once you have your content in the editor, Name the Project (this makes it easier to find in the dashboard later).
In the top right section, you will see the viewer and all the elements that you add to it. Click play in the timeline to see the video play-through.
On the top left, choose the correct aspect ratio for your video.
This way, you can create the video with your preferred platform in mind.
At the bottom of the window, you will see the video timeline where you can arrange, edit, and trim your clips and elements. To Trim, Click and Drag on either side of the clip.
On the left, you will see the editing toolbar. Select the Text option. Here, you can Customize the Text Color, Size, and Placement.
Once you’re done editing, click ‘Export’ in the top right. You can choose from a list of export presets and manually adjust each setting.
Finally, click Export. From here, Share on Social Media or Download the Video File directly.
Pricing
The VEED pricing plans have something for every type of user. What’s good is that they include all video editing features, auto subtitles, unlimited projects, and unlimited rendering. To help I’ve compared each plan below.

Is VEED Worth it or Not?
In short, Yes. I would recommend VEED to content creators because of its simple interface and easy-to-use tools. It allows you to hit the ground running and edit videos quickly.
However, if you’re a video editor looking for more advanced tools, then it might be best to take the time to learn professional editing software like Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
